Rules versus Humanitarianism Recently, I was watching the movie “The Terminal”, starring the famous actor, Tom Hanks. A scene in the movie put me into thinking, where in a passenger is denied permission by the airport authorities to fly to his country along with the medicines, which he brought for the cure of his ailing father. Even repeated pleas, from the poor passenger, fell deaf on the ears of the rule bound authorities. I was wondering whether, rules took greater priority than the life of a person? .Were rules created to bring discipline and comfort in human’s life or as a tool to torment vulnerable people bound by certain circumstances? Hundreds of such incidents happen everyday, with society being mute spectators and waiting for a day where humans will behave as true humans. Will we see such a change..? Well, only time has to answer…
